Minister of Health offers condolences on passing of John Plater

The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, today issued the following statement:

• I was saddened to learn of the passing of John Plater.

• John served as the co-chair of the Ministerial Advisory Council on the Federal Initiative to Address HIV/AIDS in Canada, and was a tireless representative of people living with HIV, AIDS and hepatitis C from across Canada and around the world.

• John dedicated his time and energy in the service of others.  He will be missed, and will be an inspiration to many for years to come.

• I wish to extend my deepest condolences to John's wife Karen, and their entire family.
