Cindy Patton

Having worked in the field for thirty years, Cindy is a seminal figure in social science research in HIV and in bringing a human rights framework to HIV/AIDS.

She was co-founder of the AIDS Action Committee of Boston in 1982 and the chair of the first community-based research ethics review board for HIV at Fenway Community Health Center from 1983-1985.

Cindy is named Canada Research Chair in Community, Culture and Health, and her contribution to the fields of AIDS and gender studies is of immense value not only provincially but globally.
